This panorama, 2 December 2009, of the channel between Kumarangk (Hindmarsh Island) and Clayton Bay, shows one the sites under consideration for a weir ( “Regulator”). There were eight alternative sites at the time. The water on the right hand side of the photographs from the Finniss River and Currency Creek is flowing through the channel to Lake Alexandrina.
This collage of photographs traces the construction of the approach road on Kumarangk from 24 June to 4 July. The materials being dumped into the channel are displacing the mud in the channel which is visible as dark plumes.
It has been a busy week at the Embassy, many visitors, questions and cups of tea. The rain has continued and the pH in the Finniss River at Wally’s Landing is 7.3-7.6 range.
