<description>Dear Diane, I do not wish to get into a slanging match but would like to point out:
1) The commercial users issues have a great deal of effect on the communities between the Lower Lakes and Blanchetown,
2) A wier that opened from the bottom would not create still water as there would have to be minimum flow at all times as there is now,
3) Sitlt and salinity would not build up behind a Torrumbarry style Loch with a lock chamber,
4) I have the greatest respect for Ecologist Keith walker,
5) I do not have the endorsement of the Lower River Murray Drought Rederence Group I listed it under my signature as I am a member of that Group,
6) Region 6 of the Murray darling Association whilst not supporting a construction to flow in the Lower Murray do however only support if necessary a structure after the proper scientific and socio-economic investigations, not what was put forward to the Senate Inquiry by the MDA General Manager the, "Twin Lakes" concept.
In ending I support a fresh water solution and seek only information so as any future decissions are based on fact.
