The River, Lakes and Coorong Action Group Inc (RLCAG) has set out their objections to the most recent request of the SA state Government to extend the deadline for the full removal of the Clayton Bay and Currency Creek regulators from May 6th 2011. See RLCAG Comments re SA Government requests to extension
The RLCAG argues that the regulators should be removed by May 2010 as required by the Minister in his original determination. The RLCAG comments include appendices of earlier submissions re this matter. Further attachments are available on request.
It was overcast and chilly, but Marie-Claire Levi and Diane Bell were not deterred: sun rise over the dunes of the Sir Richard Peninsula, a brisk walk to the Murray Mouth, nourishing breakfast of local cheese, yoghurt and fruits and a warming walk back along the Ocean Beach.

The peak of the flood waters from Victoria has passed through the system and along with the high tides and strong winds, the levels of the Murray Mouth and Coorong are equalising. One boat (four passengers) swept out through the Mouth on the current and battled back with the tide.

We sighted more four wheel drive vehicles than pelicans and the vehicle tracks scar the beach on the incoming tide.

The message is clear: no vehicles on the dunes.

For more photographs go to Di Bell’s flickr page and explore the various sets - including ‘Murray Mouth’ for previous walks.
Stayed tuned - more pics to be loaded.
